Teaching and Learning

Allendale Primary School is a professional learning community, committed to achieving excellence in teaching and learning. Our highly skilled teachers and support staff set high expectations for themselves and engaging students in stimulating, purposeful learning programs that motivate students to learn. We place a strong focus on the key curriculum areas of English, Mathematics, History and Science and we also provide a well-rounded curriculum experience based on the Australian Curriculum. We offer strong, innovative specialist programs in Music, Physical Education, Health and Visual Arts, Cultural and Global Awareness. We are focused on embedding an appreciation of Indonesia with our involvement in 21st Century learning and the Adopt–A–School Program with our Bali sister school commitment.

We were very excited to be a Regional Teacher Development School for 2016-2017 in Mathematics, English and the Early Years. We were successfully selected to continue our Regional Teacher Development School journey in the same areas for 2018-2019. We will continue to support other Midwest School in leading Western Australian Curriculum.

Our teachers adopt innovative and highly engaging instructional skills and strategies in their classrooms. We implement contemporary co-operative learning approaches and make use of the latest computer technology including iPads, interactive whiteboards and laptops to support and enhance teaching and learning programs. The learning environment is a major focus at Allendale with staff working in partnership with parents to ensure the grounds, buildings and facilities are well presented and suit the needs of all learners.
